Job description, work day and responsibilities
Hotel Grand Chancellor Adelaide is currently seeking a confident and experienced Finance Officer to action and support our accounts function.
With support and direction from the Financial Controller the role will entail ensuring all accounting and financial controls are adhered to while maintaining accuracy in accounting practises and reporting. In addition, the successful applicant will assist with end of month journals and respond to queries raised by a variety of stakeholders.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:
Credit checks, reconciliation of collections and following up outstanding receivables
Implementing strict credit control
Preparing reports and reviewing for accuracy
Invoicing
Statutory ATO reporting
Auditing of supplier invoices for accuracy
Supervision of account clerk
Preparing a variety audits and balance sheet reconciliations, reporting the outcomes to the Financial controller
Assist in month end journals
You will also assist the Financial Controller in a variety of internal and external reporting requirements.
To succeed in this position, you will need to meet the following criteria:
An appropriate tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business
Exposure in Payables and Receivables
Minimum 2 years relevant previous experience; hotels preferred
Proficient in MS Office
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in Micros and Opera (desirable but not essential)
