Role: Unit Nursing Services Head
Location: Kharadi, Pune
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Responsible for Nurses’ hiring, engagement & management
· Nursing Service quality & performance
· Nursing Strategy, Process efficiency, audit and outcomes
· Plan implement and evaluate Training and upskill nurses.
· Effective Manpower Utilization and Cross Functional Utilization
· Accountability in Nursing and Medical Capex justification and utilization
· Compliance to Statutory (monitoring), Medico Legal and Regulatory requirement
· Reports and MIS Work relations, analysis, and actions
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality in Nursing Service and Patient Safety
· Ensuring Nursing Clinical and Non-Clinical Parameters as defined by the Unit Quality is monitored and updated monthly in the KPI dashboard and within the set benchmark, Incidents reports (MSMA) Trend analysis, RCA and CAPA are reviewed for its effectiveness.
· Ensuring monthly Nursing Dashboard is compiled and updated with valid and reliable data within the timeline for corporate analysis.
· Actively participate in all Quality and Safety meetings and ensure timely update and closure of escalations.
· Participation in Quality Manual Review and ensure Implementation of clinical and non-clinical work instructions, Infection Control protocols, Nursing protocols and monitor for compliance.
· Key and Active participation in all Accreditations and certification audits and closure of observations within set timelines.
· Timely internal live audits, external and corporate audits, surprise cross functional audits and ensure closure of report in timely manner.
Customer Experience
· Promote a "patient-first" culture and enhance patient clinical experience throughout their clinical journey.
· Sensitize Nurses to provide compassionate, empathetic clear communication, and personalized Nursing Care with timely escalations and coordination.
· Prioritize patient comfort and promptly address patient and family concerns when they occur.
· Plan Implement and review patient experience initiatives. Segmented Care, GRE Rounds, Sensitive and VIP patients Comprehensive experience, Post discharge calls, Post discharge home visit or virtual call
· Address and monitor customer complaints related to Nursing Care and ensure resolution with RCA and CAPA within the TAT
· Focus on process improvement and preventive measures to reduce patient concerns and medico-legal cases.
· Participate in all Patient Pulse meetings, MDTs as and when necessary.
· A scheduled engagement with Clinicians for feedback on patient Care and understand their expectations.
Process Management
· Prompt implementation of Clinician Order, Plan, develop and deliver comprehensive nursing Care with relevant Nursing Documentation
· Strategize improving Nursing revenue from bedside procedures and equipment charges.
· Inventory management and reduction of inventory days, mobilizing Nonmoving inventory and rationalizing available inventory.
· Effective Utilization of Biomedical Equipment, Safe handling, compliance to Preventive maintenance, calibration of assets under the Nursing accountability
· Monitor daily and monthly Nursing MIS, identify gaps, collaborate with inter and intra department team members, identify opportunities and implement measures for continuous improvement.
· With active participation of department team members ensure objective duty rota, leave planning, cross functional deployment, and contingency plan to manage any surge or crisis.
People Management
· In Collaboration with HR timely engagement with nurses for life cycle management, Upskilling, and reduction of attrition with the following initiatives
· Conduct Structured functional orientation for new joinees that includes MANIP.
· Plan & Conduct effective Preceptorship and mentorship program
· Timely upskilling of Nurses with specialty training program
· Monitoring training effectiveness and actualization: CNE, Department training, Mandate training.
· Cross functional training pertaining to critical care areas and deployment
· Utilization and compliance to e -learning modules (Bodhi med learn)
· Collaborate with HR & other functional heads to conduct Huddles and timely closure of concern areas.
· Training every employee on KRAs and performance management cycle and conduct timely review for an objective assessment of progress.
· Develop career progression plan, identify internal talents to take up enhanced role
· Training need identification for self & team from time to time to enhance both behavioural & functional competencies
What We Are Looking For:
• BSc + MSC Nursing
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Nursing Administration
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proven team leadership skills with the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team environment.
