Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced accountant / tax preparer (or entry-level Staff I) who is motivated to learn and grow professionally within our Business Services Group. These clients include business entities and the individual owners. The size of the businesses range from annual revenue of $100K to over $50M.

Essential functions:

• Preparation of financial statements; primarily compilations and prepared financial statement engagements, with the opportunity to also be involved in audit, review and agreed-upon procedures engagements

• Individual, partnership and corporate income tax return preparation

• Tax and financial planning and consulting

• Other tax return preparation as needed, including sales tax, business license, personal property and payroll tax returns

• Move toward supervising, training and mentoring newer staff

• Work as part of a service team with the firm principals, job managers and staff

Minimum requirements:

• Over one year of relevant experience

• Bachelors or master’s degree in accounting

• CPA or EA candidate

Other skills / abilities:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Must be detail-oriented, thorough and organized

• Professional image and positive attitude

• Team player that wants their voice heard and is receptive to constructive feedback

• Excellent computer skills, including the ability to work in a paperless environment.

• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills

• Ability to work in a paperless environment

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Travel:
Occasional non-local travel may be required no more than 5-10% of the year, depending on your client base.

• Lifting:
Occasional lifting of boxes and/or paperwork up to 25 pounds.
