The Global Payments team is building a platform to provide cross-border payment solutions for all ByteDance's products and services, such as TikTok, Helo, Games, Education, etc.

The Data Compliance & Privacy team in global payments organization protects users on our platform by promoting privacy by design. We design architectures that treat user data respectfully, with transparency, and in line with reasonable practices. Data privacy engineering is a new technological territory that hasn't been well defined in our industry. By joining the team, you will have chances to refine the data privacy framework, use advanced privacy technology, and make a big impact on our community.
• Develop and design large-scale data privacy infrastructure to help enforce privacy practices with consistency and efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership to the team, and play a key role in driving code and architecture reviews as well as large cross-company privacy reviews of products and features.
• Work closely with Security, Privacy, and Product leaders to help define goals that are properly aligned to company-wide goals.

Qualifications
• 5+ years of work experience in software engineering, privacy engineering or security engineering.
• Experience building relationships and influencing stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
• Experience communicating highly technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Code maintenance and review experience in one or more general-purpose languages.
• BS in Computer Science or technical field of study, or equivalent industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience collaborating with compliance and policy teams, government entities, external privacy-focused community members and members of the press.

Job Information:

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $187040 - $280000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
