Overview
The Senior Accountant is responsible for accounting activities related to long-term care (LTC) pharmacy administrative locations, consolidated vendor accruals, contract labor account analysis, and documentation for PharMerica Corporation operations.
Responsibilities
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual audit requirements Review and approve reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements to ensure they are prepared properly and follow up on any unusual items Extract and analyze all contract labor vendors to ensure capitalized labor is moved accordingly and other contract labor is accrued and expensed monthly Accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting for all LTC pharmacy administrative locations Review expenses regarding consolidated pharmacy vendors monthly to ensure invoices are properly paid, accrued, and accounted for Maintain relationships with internal and external auditors Ensure key general ledger accounts are reconciled to subsidiary records on a monthly basis Provide guidance to research outstanding issues evidenced by the monthly reconciliations until successful resolution has been reached Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Provide guidance, support, and development to staff accountants Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience CPA preferred, or pursuing a CPA Experience applying GAAP accounting principles Strong written and verbal communication skills Detail oriented with strong analytical skills and ability to develop/maintain clear and concise account reconciliations for material and complex transactions and events Knowledge of internal and external audit requirements Ability to work effectively with various functions and flexibility in a changing work environment Self-motivated team player who can credibly communicate across the organization Highly dedicated, purposeful leader with a commitment to the highest standards of performance Strong knowledge of general accounting methods and theory as well as above average proficiency with Excel, Word, and Oracle accounting applications Must be able to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively with other departments
