POSITION SUMMARY

This is an opportunity for a General Accounting Senior Accountant at our Sumner office, reporting to the Director of Global Finance. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger, maintenance and reconciliation of accounting records and timely reporting of financial results. Monitoring AR and AP functions and report progress on collections and cash flow.

Salary range: $79,000 - $82,000

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manages the timely completion of the monthly financial close, includes preparing journal entries, ensuring corrections from previous month are accounted for, management’s estimates are reasonable and all balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a periodic basis
• Lead for researching Accounting rules (GAAP); assessing technical implications for complex business transactions
• Monitor, review and make recommendations for proper and accurate AR and AP reporting, interacting with the AP Specialist and AR Specialists.
• Participate in a full range of accounting duties; responsible for the review and maintenance of accounting records; preparation of journal entries; coordinate/participate in the preparation, production and compilation of financial statements and reports; provide information for the budget process; respond to questions and requests for information
• Participate in the performance of accounting duties involved in the analysis, preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports. Responsible for oversight of General Accounting functions (General Ledger, Fixed Assets/Capital Accounting, Cash Ledger)
• Perform a variety of duties to ensure financial system integrity and participate in financial system development as needed
• Participate in the development, documentation, review and improvement of the organization’s financial procedures and internal controls; ensure operational compliance by staff that ensures transactions are processed according to procedures and standards.
• Participates in the annual budget process and quarterly forecast process, providing assistance to management and staff.
• Acts as a primary resource in the year end audit process including the preparation of schedules, narratives and ad-hoc reports as needed.

OTHER ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES

· In-depth knowledge of financial analysis and financial accounting systems.

· Experience in intercompany and global transactions and foreign exchange.

· Excellent accounting skills including current knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Financial Accounting Standards.

· Good knowledge of automated report writing and database management.

· Excellent analytical abilities.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Must be a team player.

· Good organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize and multi-task.

· Computer literate, with the ability to utilize standard software applications and be proficient in Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree required (accounting or finance).

· 5-7 years related accounting experience

· CPA or equivalent preferred (not required)

This position requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate phones, computers, and other office equipment. This person must communicate clearly using the English language to accurately convey information and be able to hear at normal speaking levels both in person and over the telephone. Vision correctable to 20/40 is required to review written materials.

Generally good working conditions with little or no exposure to extremes in noise or temperature. Little or no safety/health hazards. Some lifting or climbing; work performed in an office and warehouse setting. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
