Responsibilities
Repairs, replaces, and maintains all types of piping, valves, controls, and plumbing fixtures in new or existing City structures or at assigned field locations
Repairs, replaces, and maintains all types of plumbing within or on City property (e.g., water, waste, gas and vent lines, restroom facilities, drinking fountains, fire lines, chemical lines, swimming pools, Solar Hot Water Systems, etc.) according to the rules and regulations of the Allegheny County Plumbing Code
Responds to plumbing emergencies involving problems with gas, water, compressed air, chlorine lines, sewer, waste and water supply emergencies
Provides assistance to private Contractors regarding work that may be performed to City facilities by various contractors
Maintains records and prepares accurate reports as requested or required
Directs the work of laborers or other assigned personnel on projects
May overhaul evaporators and clean chlorine lines
May make field sketches identifying problems encountered as required
May drive City vehicle
Uses a variety of technological hardware (ie, computers, laptops, tablets, smart phones, GPS, cameras, etc.) and/or software (ie, email, Cartegraph, Microsoft Office, etc.)
to maintain records and prepare accurate reports on work performed
Performs activities and functions of related lower-level personnel as assigned or required
Performs such other related tasks and duties that are assigned or required
May work all three shifts, weekends and holidays
