Minimum Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Grade 12/Standard 10 Technical (Essential/Minimum)
• N2 Relevant Trade Subjects (Essential/Minimum)
• Trade: Plumber MQA/QCTO (Essential/Minimum)
EXPERIENCE:
2-3 years Relevant job-specific experience (Essential/Minimum) Operational
REQUIREMENTS:
• Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
• Competence: Core MQA Modules Assessments (Essential/Minimum)
• Competence: On the Job MQA Modules Asses (Essential/Minimum)
Duties & Responsibilities
Construction and Routine Work Management
• Maintain plumbing systems according to specified original standards
• Perform work as per job card request and section's requirements
• Complete plumbing installations and test before job card is signed off (toilet pans, basin)
Inspection and Control
• Inspect all tools, equipment, instruments prior to use
• Inspect all vehicles/machines/mechanical equipment to identify defects
• Report defects immediately
• Carry out inspection according to a specific schedule to repair identified defects
Material/Resource Planning and Control
• Use available resources, both people and equipment optimally
• Assume responsibility for quality of maintenance and new installations in functional area
Routine Work Management
• Receive, complete and return job cards
• Transfer knowledge and give guidance to Artisan Aides/trainees to improve their skills
Safe and Healthy Work Environment
• Adhere to all health and safety practices and promote good housekeeping on an ongoing basis
• Address all unsafe practices/potential hazardous situations, rectify/report to superior
• Comply with Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC)/technical requirements
• Wear applicable Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times
Technical Support
• See to stock/spares/tools/equipment availability to avoid delays due to shortages
• Test system/components for functionality before job card signed off
• Assist Foreman with inspections of plumbing infrastructure within the relevant area
