Position Summary:
The Payroll Administrator / Accounts Payable Support will be responsible for all tasks involved in processing payroll, including verifying timesheets, manually calculating all pay plans, and ensuring employees receive their pay on time and accurately. This role involves providing financial, administrative and clerical support to the organization. This role will perform weekly payroll and assist with Accounts Payable throughout the week as well. The Accounts Payable tasks associated with this position are to verify purchases, properly allocate expenses, and complete payments to vendors within a timely manner. This position also requires the flexibility to assist with normal office functions to include filing documents, scanning documents, e-mailing vendors, cleaning the office area, and assisting with other administrative tasks as requested.
Essential Functions:
• Pays employees by manually or electronically calculating pay plans and utilizing the HRIS system
• Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data into the payroll system, as well as retrieving data when necessary
• Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
• Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments
• Occasionally audits HRIS payroll information as needed
• Gathers and verifies timekeeping data for employees
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, or year-end calculations of bonuses and other salary-based compensation
• Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information and interacting with HR
• Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests, with a focus on customer service
• Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
• Receives and verifies expense receipts; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
• Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
• Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
• Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
• Records entry of, verifies documentation for, and distributes petty cash.
• Calculates and reports sales tax based on paid invoices.
• Investigate and resolve problems associated with processing of invoices and purchase orders.
• Review and reconcile vendor statements received
• Execute cash disbursements for payments in accordance with policies and procedures
• Performs other related duties as assigned

• Squatting, bending, and twisting: occasional

Skills & Abilities:
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent required. Some college preferred
Experience:
3-5 years of related experience required
Certifications / Licenses:
Valid driver's license; driving record must meet company's insurance requirements
Computer:
Proficiency in the use of the Internet, email, Microsoft Office Software (word, excel, and outlook).
Previous experience with computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe PDF, etc
