Location : Jacksonville, FL
Night Shift: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
34.5 hours on the weeks that they do not work the weekend
46 hours on the weeks they do work the weekend (10 hours OT)
Job Description
Position Summary:
Under general supervision, the Manufacturing Technician performs all responsibilities necessary to operate, troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment. The technician will monitor and adjust processes to improve throughput, assist with preventive maintenance (PM), and ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA, GMP, MPs, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other relevant specifications. The role involves routine cleaning and non-routine maintenance while adhering to all safety policies and environmental objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain production equipment to ensure efficient and effective production processes.
Troubleshooting and Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on equipment to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
Process Improvement: Collaborate with the production team to resolve technical issues and identify areas for process improvement.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, and environmental policies.
Support for Other Departments: Provide technical support and assistance to other departments as required.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of maintenance or engineering experience in a high-volume production line environment, preferably with continuous operation.
General knowledge and troubleshooting skills in the following areas:
Process improvement
Line knowledge
PLC systems
Electro/mechanical devices
Robotic/servo systems
Safety devices
Equipment installation, debug, and qualification
Control circuitry development
Electro-mechanical troubleshooting/repair
Equipment prototyping and production start-up
Mechanical parts design and tooling experience
Materials/metalworking and mechanical power transmission.
Assessment: Must achieve a passing score on the Ramsay Assessment.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively. Strong organizational skills are essential.
Production Goals: Ability to meet production plan targets for acceptable lens quantities.
Technology Proficiency: Proficient in using office equipment, personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite, and other required software.
Physical Demands: Capable of performing physical tasks, including stooping, crouching, walking, lifting (up to 25 pounds), reaching, and standing in an air-conditioned manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions:
Access to on-site facilities including a gym, clinic, and cafeteria.
Work environment: Air-conditioned manufacturing facility.
Tools: All necessary tools provided.
Shift Details:
Night Shift: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM (Rotating) – $25.09/hr
Schedule: 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, and 3 days off.
Overtime: Paid after 36 hours.
Required Experience:
High School Diploma or GED.
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with troubleshooting skills.
2+ years of maintenance or engineering experience.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Qualifying score on the Ramsay Assessment.
