They are now seeking a seasoned Taxation & Compliance professional for the role of Manager - Taxation & Compliance based at their Mumbai office.

Position Overview:
We are looking for a Taxation & Compliance Manager to oversee and manage the entire taxation and compliance functions at a group level. The successful candidate will ensure timely compliance with all tax-related requirements, coordinate with internal teams and external auditors, and handle assessments and audits related to both Direct and Indirect Taxes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Timely deduction and filing of GST returns, TDS returns, and Income Tax Returns for all projects within the group entity.
• Manage assessment hearings for Direct and Indirect taxes, including preparing replies to notices with full annexure, scrutiny, and assessment details, followed by regular follow-ups.
• Facilitate discussions with internal and statutory auditors, GST auditors, and RERA auditors regarding the scope of audits and resolve their queries efficiently.
• Oversee the entire compliance management function at the group level.
• Assist in TDS calculations for employees and set up processes to ensure proper tax deduction and reconciliation.
• Coordinate with Direct and Indirect Tax Consultants & Auditors for effective control of all ongoing and future assessments.
• Ensure timely payment of taxes and proper updating of TDS certificates, especially for lower deduction under Direct and Indirect Tax Laws.
• Prepare and coordinate Monthly Compliance MIS reports and keep the Compliance Calendar updated, guiding management accordingly. Stay updated with all circulars and notifications from Direct and Indirect Tax Authorities.
• Assist the Finance & Accounting (F&A) department and the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) department in taxation matters.
• Develop and monitor systems and processes in accounting, MIS, and compliances.
• Coordinate with auditors to ensure smooth audit processes.
• Finalize accounts and prepare quarterly, half-yearly, and annual accounts for one/two entities when required.
• Stay updated on statutory changes and properly inform the contracts department for their implementation.
Qualifications:
• Graduate with CA or Inter CA qualification.
• 5 to 7+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the Real Estate or Construction Industry.
• Good knowledge of Indirect Taxation and a strong understanding of Direct Taxes.
• Excellent legal interpretational skills.
• Working knowledge of Tally, Accounts, MIS & Budgeting.
• Hands-on experience with GST and Direct Taxes return submissions, scrutiny assessments, reply to show cause notices, appearing before authorities, appeals, and liaising with consultants.
