Marketing Manager, Strategic Growth Markets
Level – Vice President
Division – International Marketing

The Marketing Manager, Strategic Growth Markets role leads the development and execution of a commercially-orientated marketing program across State Street’s strategic growth markets. These markets currently include the Middle East (Gulf Cooperative Council countries), Latin America and the NORDICS.
The role will work closely with the Executive Vice President, Head of Strategic Growth Markets, regional sales and relationship management teams, to understand the business strategy and commercial objectives across the selected regions.
They will be responsible for creating and delivering regional marketing strategies – comprising multi-channel marketing campaigns – that engage target audiences, raise brand awareness, generate demand for State Street’s capabilities and capture qualified leads, which align with the commercial strategy and help the Head of Strategic Growth Markets achieve their growth targets and business objectives.
Working in partnership with marketing colleagues globally, the successful candidate will also adapt and localize global marketing campaigns, aligning them with regional business priorities to enhance their relevance and ensure they resonate with target audiences to deliver return on investment.
They will also develop and implement, as required, customized marketing campaigns for the Strategic Growth regions, comprising both top of funnel activity and 1:few ABM marketing programs.
The role, based in London, reports to the Head of International Marketing and forms part of this team which is spread across Europe, Asia and Oceania. They will sit on the International Marketing leadership team. The role is suitable to hybrid working, combining work from home and work from office, with work from the office required a minimum of 2 days per week.
Major Responsibilities
• Create and execute a marketing strategy, aligned with regional commercial objectives, that engages target audiences, raises brand awareness, generates demand for State Street’s capabilities and captures qualified leads.
• Act as the primary point of contact for marketing support for the Executive Vice President, Head of Strategic Growth Markets, providing marketing and external communications advice.
• Partner with global marketing colleagues to align global commercial campaigns with regional client needs across the strategic growth regions. Execute regional activity aligned to these global campaigns to amplify and enhance the effectiveness of these campaigns.
• Develop and deliver customized marketing activity for the Strategic Growth Markets, designed to meet any region-specific business or client needs.
• Work with the ABM CoE to leverage the frameworks and toolkits to execute 1:Few ABM marketing programs for priority accounts within the strategic growth regions, identified by the Head of Strategic Growth Markets and regional sales leaders.
• Partner with State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) marketing colleagues to articulate and promote a One State Street value proposition to clients and prospects across the target regions.
• Work with in-house marketing channels and approved external vendors – managing a dedicated marketing budget – to deliver the program of marketing activity. This will include the creation of insights and thought leadership content, marketing and sales collateral, advertising creative, paid media promotion, paid and organic social media promotion etc.
• Measure the effectiveness and ROI of marketing activity across the regions and report back to senior business and marketing stakeholders.
• Coordinate online content for country-specific websites/homepages for the Strategic Growth Markets locations, working with the relevant business stakeholders and Global Marketing colleagues.
• Operate as part of a global marketing team, which will at times require working outside standard office hours. Travel on occasion to locations in the Strategic Growth Markets to support key events and marketing initiatives that require on-the -ground support.
Skills/Knowledge Requirements
• Business level fluency in English is vital along with strong English writing skills and a good knowledge of communications best practices.
• Experience in developing both large-scale and ABM marketing strategies, and implementing these through multi-channel marketing programs.
• Able to research local market trends and collaborate with local business and product experts to identify thought leadership and insights content ideas that resonate with State Street’s existing and prospective clients. Then to work with internal channels and external vendors to create suitable content aligned to these themes.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to interface with colleagues from all disciplines, backgrounds and cultures.
• Strong project and time management skills.
• Must be a highly motivated and energetic self-starter who is able to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven hybrid work environment—both independently and as a dedicated team member.
• Able to work both face to face with colleagues and key stakeholders, as well as operating remotely, as part of a hybrid work environment.
• Experience operating in a complex, global organization with matrix reporting lines and multiple stakeholders would be advantageous.
Education and Experience
• University level education.
• At least 10 years of experience in communications and/or marketing-related fields.
• Experience working across multiple regions in a multi-national corporation, preferably within financial services
