Responsibilities
The Human Resources Assistant will play a critical role in maintaining efficient HR operations, managing employee records, and ensuring compliance with the company’s policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations
Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation
Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management
Assist personnel administrators and other HR staff with clerical support and with special projects as needed
Assist in disseminating HR-related information to employees, including policy updates, announcements, and resources
Track, monitor and relay outstanding applications to determine hire/rejection status with hiring managers
Assist with job postings, applicant tracking, and scheduling interviews
Works with external recruiters and employment agencies to identify and recruit candidates
Facilitate and monitor the entire onboarding process for all hires to ensure completion of new hire and rehire related employee documents
Process and onboard new hires and rehires in the company’s HRIS
Conducts or assists with new hire orientation
Generate reports on HR metrics, trends, and key performance indicators
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
Performs other duties as assigned

American Track is seeking a dedicated and detail oriented Human Resources Assistant to support the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Assistant will play a critical role in maintaining efficient HR operations, managing employee records, and ensuring compliance with the company’s policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Education Required:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, preferred.
Work Experience Required:
• 3 + years’ experience in an administrative role required.
• Previous HR experience highly desired.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

• Paylocity and/or CmiC experience preferred.
• Railroad or construction experience is a plus.
