About the Role:
As a CBRE Building Operator, you will provide operational and technical support to a portfolio of commercial office, retail and industrial buildings, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing preventative and reactive repairs and maintenance.
What You’ll Do:
• Respond to tenant requests and document actions, resolutions and follow up in an automated work order system
• Inspect properties daily and record equipment readings
• Provide groundskeeping supplementary to contracted services such as litter control, painting, snow removal and landscaping, to ensure that sites are always safe and presentable
• Supervise and coordinate trades, specialists and consultants engaged in repairs, maintenance and projects
• Follow preventative maintenance programs, and schedule annual verifications for life safety systems, cross connection controls, elevator inspections, etc . . .
• Complete minor maintenance such as trouble shooting HVAC problems, belt and filter replacements, lamp replacements, plumbing, drywall patching and painting, pressure washing, battery replacements, door adjustments and cleaning of mechanical rooms
• Communicate with building management, collaborate with Operations team members, and perform administrative processes such as obtaining quotes for budgets and creating purchase orders
• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after hours and emergency needs of the buildings
What You’ll Need:
• One to 3 years of experience holding a junior position in commercial building operations
• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school certificate. A 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate is an asset.
• A reliable vehicle that can be insured for employment purposes and a Driver’s License in good standing
• Physical abilities to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, lift and carry loads up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, at heights, and in outdoor weather
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in written and verbal forms, with strong listening and customer service skills
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, online work and purchase order software, and cell phone operation. Knowledge of BMS and BAS systems is an asset.
• Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, reliability, rational problem solving and comfort working independently
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
