About Us: Massachusetts Advocates Standing Strong (MASS) is a statewide self-advocacy organization that supports, nurtures, and promotes self-advocacy in youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to empower self-advocates, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, through education to make choices that improve and enrich lives.
What We're Looking For: We're seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our small, dedicated team in Boston. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a mission-driven environment, especially in the field of disability advocacy. If you have experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, that's a bonus!

Your Role
• Record and categorize financial transactions using QuickBooks Online
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Prepare and analyze financial reports for management review
• Conduct account analysis and reconciliation
• Assist with payroll processing and month-end close procedures
• Support the Executive Director and Operations Manager with various tasks
• Manage general administrative tasks related to bookkeeping, budgeting, and responding to contract requests
• Maintain confidentiality of coworkers' information and handle sensitive data appropriately
• Reconcile and monitor bank accounts and credit cards
• Ensure accuracy and proper documentation of all recorded transactions
• Manage multiple priorities effectively while demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and ownership
• Exhibit exceptional written and oral communication skills, with polished interpersonal abilities
What We're Looking For
• The ideal candidate will have a background in financial management and accounting principles.
• Experience with Quickbooks, Payroll processing, Excel, and Google Suite is preferred.
• Understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Experience with general ledger reconciliation
• Familiarity with payroll processing and account analysis
• Efficiently handle accounts payable tasks
• Competence in budgeting and financial forecasting
• Patience and flexibility in working with coworkers with intellectual and developmental disabilities
