The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing various financial tasks, including preparing and analysing financial statements, handling payroll, and overseeing fixed assets management. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. This role requires a balance of technical proficiency, organizational skills, and the capability to collaborate with other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Statements Preparation: Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Journal Entries: Record and review journal entries, ensuring all transactions are properly documented and categorized.
• Payroll Management: Oversee the payroll process, including preparation, processing, and reconciliation. Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and employee benefits.
• Fixed Assets Management: Manage and maintain fixed assets, including acquisition, depreciation, and disposal. Ensure accurate reporting and compliance with company policies.
• Accounting Principles: Apply knowledge of accounting principles and practices to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
• Tax Compliance: Stay updated with tax regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant tax requirements.
• Analytical Skills: Utilize strong analytical skills to solve complex financial problems and make informed decisions.
• Organizational Skills: Demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Software Proficiency: Use accounting software and spreadsheet programs efficiently to manage financial data and reporting.
• Team Collaboration: Work independently and as part of a team, providing support and guidance to junior staff as needed.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is preferred. Other professional certifications (e.g., CA, CMA) are a plus.
• Experience: Proven experience in accounting, including financial statement preparation, payroll management, and fixed assets management.
• Skills: Expertise in accounting principles, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet programs.
• Attributes: Detail-oriented, with a strong attention to accuracy and the ability to work under pressure.
