Accounts Payable

Overview of the Accounting Assistant Role:
• 3-Way Matching: Verify and match purchase orders, receiving reports, and vendor invoices to ensure accuracy before processing payments.
• Data Entry: Enter accounts payable transactions into the accounting system accurately and promptly, ensuring proper coding and documentation.

Accounts Receivable
• Payment Posting: Accurately post customer payments to the appropriate ledgers, ensuring that all transactions are recorded correctly.
• Invoice Generation: Assist in preparing and sending out invoices to customers, and follow up on outstanding payments as necessary.

Month-End Close Process
• Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling various accounts, including bank statements, to ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
• Reporting: Prepare and compile necessary documentation and reports to support the month-end closing activities.

General Ledger Duties
• Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to accounting standards.
• Account Analysis: Assist in analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Additional Responsibilities
• Special Projects: Participate in various special projects as assigned by the management, contributing to process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Support: Provide support to the accounting team with various administrative tasks and assist in other areas as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of experience in an accounting role
• Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
• Excellent communication skills
