Join our Finance Team as an Accountant!
Location: Golden Valley, MN
Schedule: Full time Monday-Friday with flexibility in choice of set hours - option for hybrid work schedule after 90 days
Wage: $72,000 annually plus a comprehensive benefits package

Responsibilities
• Oversees monthly financial closing for multiple companies, including analyzing income and expense accounts, posting allocations and accruals, and preparing financial statements, schedules, and reports.
• Analyzes variances and makes recommendations.
• Completes balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversees banking functions and funding.
• Sets up and retires depreciable assets.
• Maintains insurance policies, property and auto claims, and participates in annual workers’ compensation audit.
• Creates annual budgets for multiple companies by working with other departments to make decisions and plan while assessing financial goals.
• Calculates client billing rates and staffing needs.
• Assists in annual company audit.
• Completes census reporting, unclaimed property reporting, and any relevant State and Medicaid audits.
• Ensures compliance with Federal, State, Local, Medicaid, and Healthcare Agency regulations.
Required Qualifications
• Education: 4-year Accounting or related business degree, or 2-year Accounting degree with 3-5 years’ job experience in a related role.
• Computer Skills: This position requires use of multiple computer systems and heavy spreadsheet usage. Ideal candidates are skilled with basic universal computer programs and the Microsoft suite as well as comfortable learning new programs.
• Must be familiar with Excel and comfortable with complex formulas.
• Must be organized and be able to prioritize tasks based on multiple deadlines.
• Must possess excellent communication skills and be comfortable talking to individuals served, Case Managers, Minnesota State and County representatives, auditors, other professionals in the field, and the general public.
• Must have schedule flexibility, particularly during annual budget season and during annual audits.
• Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, and implement department missions, goals, and objectives; operating policies and procedures; internal management and resource structures; budget operations and allocations; personnel and workforce factors.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English communication
Additional Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Great Plains, Crystal Reports, and Mfiles.
• Knowledge/background of social services and the field of developmental disabilities.
• Audit experience.
• Knowledge of insurance such as liability, workers’ compensation, property, and auto.
